While creating my work, I strive to reveal the inner, unseen spirit of the ordinary. My lines, colors and tones illuminate the invisible life of everyday experience and honor its hidden beauty.
Using graphite, watercolor, oil paint, beeswax, collage, or pastels on canvas or paper. I create marks that leave physical evidence of my journey.I choose ordinary moments and record places and actions, by searching through my memory. The mediums reveal evidence of the invisible movement that exists in unassuming, humble objects and actions.
Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Durer, Cezanne, Bonnard, van Gogh, Anselm Keifer, Ben Frank Moss, Thomas Merton, Teilhard de Chardin, Twyla Tharp and Madeleine L’Engle continue to inspire me both conceptually and by their way of working.
admin - Oh Michele, Thank you so much. I so appreciate your thoughts! What moments or places bring you to recognize the invisible?
Michele Hadjopoulos - Beautiful work. I love the “unseen” in everyday life that you bring to life and light!
